How do I edit the Customization file for DFM Concurrent Costing?

Below are instructions on finding and editing one of DFM Concurrent Costing's System files, dfmcost.cst, the "Customization file." The instructions include a precaution on saving a copy of this file in case it is accidentally corrupted during editing.

1. Exit DFM Concurrent Costing.

2. In My Computer or Windows Explorer, locate the System folder of the DFM Concurrent Costing installation. (C:\DFMA by default)

3. IMPORTANT: Save a copy of the file dfmcost.cst in a location other than the System folder in case you later wish to replace the file you are about to change with the original. (It can also be reinstalled from the DFMA installation CD.)

4. Open the file dfmcost.cst (in the System folder) in Notepad.

5. To locate a variable, choose Find from the Edit menu to specify the search string.

6. When you have located the variable name you are looking for, make the change to the numeric value, save your changes and close the file.
