How are surface patches used in the software’s calculations and how can I obtain additional information on counting surface patches? Surface patches must be counted to estimate the tooling cost of cavity and core machining. A surface patch is defined as any change in direction on the part’s surface which necessitates a new machining operation. The surface patch total must include all patches on the inside and outside of the part. Additional documentation on counting surface patches is available by downloading this file: injpatches.zip. It is a portable document file (PDF). You will first need to unzip it and then use Adobe Acrobat Reader to view its contents. Download Acrobat Reader free from Adobe's site at www.adobe.com |
